Abstract:The sweet protein (mabinlin) was showed to be the major storage protein of Capparis masaikai Levl. seeds. It located in protein bodies of emb-ryonic axis cells and accotinted for about 90% of their total protein. The rou-nd protein body was 2-10 um in size and had inclusions of globoids but nocrystalloid. As a very basic albumin, the sweet protein accumulated in the ma-trix of protein bodies in combination with a very acidic compound 2-hydrosyl-ethyl-glucosinolate. In matrix also located the acid phosphatase. Globoids were not rigid in size, and were composed mainly of the K salt of phytic acid.
