Abstract:Objective:To investigate the chemical constituents of Cichorium intybus.Method:Constituents were separated by means of solvent extraction and chromatography on silical gel.The structures were established by spectral analysis and chemical evidence.Result:Seven compounds were isolated from the roots of C.intybus and four of them were identified as α-amyrin,taraxerone,baurenyl acetate and β sitosterol. Conclusion:All the four compounds were obtained from the plant for the first time.
