Abstract:The work in this paper has a twofold aim: ①Veritifying the Chinese drug "Banxia" in medieinal books before 1900 as the tuber of Pinellia ternata (Araceae), While P. ternota in Qizhou (Licheng County, Shandong Provence) had been mistaked for P. tripartita which only grow in Japan; ②proving young tuber of P. pedatisecta to be "Youba" which was confused with "Banxia" in some ancient medicinal books, while "Youba" has been regarded as Arisaema regens so far.
