Abstract: Chiloschista exuperei is reported from China for the first time. This species was easy identified by its white and
tongue shaped mid ̄lobe from other species.

摘  要: 报道了中国兰科一新记录种ꎬ白花异型兰 Chiloschista exuperei (Guillaumin) Garayꎮ 该种由于其花的颜
色为白色、唇瓣中裂片基部具球状、密被毛的胼胝体而明显不同于该属内其它种ꎮ
关键词: 白花异型兰ꎬ 兰科ꎬ 新记录ꎬ 中国
    Chiloschista Lindley (Orchidaceaeꎬ Aeridinae) is
a genus of epiphytes and known as “plants without leav ̄
es ”ꎬ well presented from the Indian subcontinent
through SE Asia to Australia. This genus including about
10 species and 3 species had been so far found in China
(Chen & Woodꎬ 2009). The following described species
is a new record of Chiloschista for China.

1957.白花异型兰(新拟)(Fig. 1)
Stem inconspicuousꎬ with long flattened rootsꎬ
leafless. Inflorescences 1-3ꎬ pendulousꎬ densely pubes ̄
centꎬ racemoseꎬ (7-10) cmꎬ laxly 4-8 floweredꎻ pe ̄
duncle and rachis densely pubescentꎻ floral bracts 2.8
mmꎬ ovate ̄lanceolateꎬ glabrousꎬ membranousꎬ acute.
Flowers whiteꎬ with brownish red stripes between the
two lateral lobesꎻ pedicle and ovary 4.5 mmꎬ pubescent.
Dorsal sepal nearly broadly ellipticꎬ 5.4 mm × 3.3 mmꎬ
sparsely pubescent abaxiallyꎬ subobtuseꎻ lateral sepals
slightly obliqueꎬ broadly ovate or ellipticꎬ5.1 mm × 3.1
mmꎬ sparsely pubescent near abaxial baseꎻ petals

suboblongꎬ 5.4 mm × 3.1 mmꎬ obtuseꎻ lip 3 ̄lobedꎬ
lateral lobes erectꎬ falcate ̄oblongꎬ roundedꎬ 4.4 mm ×
2.3 mmꎻ mid ̄lobe tongue shapedꎬ 2.3 mm × 0.9 mmꎬ
base with a globular callusꎬ densely pubescent. Col ̄
umn ca. 2.0 mmꎬ foot ca. 2 mmꎬ anther cap with 2 fili ̄
form appendages on both sides. Flowering time: May.
Distribution: Thailandꎬ Vietnamꎬ Cambodiaꎬ La ̄
osꎬ China.
China. Yunnan: Menghaiꎬ epiphytic on trunks in
monsoon evergreen broad leaved forestꎬ 1 200 mꎬ
2014 ̄05 ̄16ꎬ LIU Qiang 158 (HITBC).

Chiloschista exuperei was first named by Guillau ̄
min in 1957ꎬ and was categorized into the Taeniophyl ̄
lum genus. Until the 1972ꎬ Garay believed that it
should belong to Chiloschista genus ( Seidenfadenꎬ
1992). This species was easy identified by its white
color and tongue shaped mid ̄lobe from other species.
We only found it in the serious ̄fragmented forest (Hol ̄
ly Hill of Dai people) and roadside. Along with fast ex ̄
pansion of rubber and tea plantations in the recent
yearsꎬ the habitat of this species was gradually en ̄
croachedꎬ and its survival was under severe threat.
