Abstract:Jasmonic acid (JA) and its methyl ester (MeJA) collectively named jasm
onates are ubiquitously occurring plant growth regulators and they play important role in plant cell. This paper presents some of the new approaches on the cloning、 expression and regulation of the key enzyme genes of the biosynthesis of jasmonates. The analysis of some mutants: fad3_2、fad7_2、 fad8、coi1、opr3、delayed dehiscence 1
indicates that JA plays an important role in plant defense and development, especially in male sterile and resistance to diseases and insects. the new proceedings of signal transduction are also reviewed.
