Abstract:TheefectsofdiferentelectroniccariersonbutanolfermentationbyClostridiumacetobutylicum
wereinvestigated.Resultsshowedthatbenzylviologenonlowconcentrationscouldpromotebutanol
productionandreduceacetoneproduction,andthebutanolratioincreasedfrom6692% to8235%.
Usingbenzylviologen,C.acetobutylicumcouldentersolventogenesisrapidlyandthefermentationperiod
wasshortened,thusbutanolproductivitywasmarkedlyincreased.C.acetobutylicumproduced1610g/L
butanolwithaproductivityof037g/(L·h)whengrownincornmediumcontaining40mg/Lbenzyl
viologen.Meanwhile,thebutanolproductionandtheproductivitywere1096% and6087%,higher
thanthoseofcontrol.Thepromotionofthebenzylviologenonthebutanolproductionwasmoreactive
whenthebutanolratiowaslower
