Abstract:ThebutanolfermentationconditionsofClostridiumbeijerinckiART124fromsugarcanemolas
seswereoptimizedbyresponsesurfacemethod.PlacketBurmandesignwasusedtoevaluatetheinflu
encesofrelatedfactors.CaCO3,NH4HCO3andK2HPO4wereselectedasthesignificantfactorsThe
pathofsteepestascentwasundertakentoapproachtheoptimumregionofthethreesignificantfactors.
Theefectsofthethreemainfactorsonthebutanolproductionwerefurtherinvestigatedbyacentralcom
positedesign.Theobtainedoptimalconcentrationsofnutrientswere265g/L(CaCO3),216g/L
(NH4HCO3)and043g/L(K2HPO4).Acorespondingmathematicalmodelwasestablishedtopredict
thefermentationexperimentandthemaximumbutanolyieldof810g/Lwasobtained.Undertheoptimal
conditions,thebutanolconcentrationincreasedby5314%.Thestatisticalmethodwasprovedtobea
powerfultoolfortheoptimizationofbutanolproductionfromcanemolasses.
