Abstract:Adaptation mechanisms of different crops to low phosphorus stress were investigated with solution culture and sand quartz culture Experimental results demonstrated, under the condition of low P, adaptation of crops to low phosphorus stress were to reduce root radius, increase root shoot ratio, raise specific surface area of plant roots, increase total organic acids, the activity of acid phosphatase etc Different crops have different responses to low phosphorus stress Mobilization of crop root exudates on sparingly soluble phosphates was elephant grass > raphanus > crotalaria Utilization of sparingly soluble phosphates by three crops was elephant grass > raphanus > crotalaria Availability of sparingly soluble phosphates to crops was Al P > Fe P > RP The availability of sparingly soluble phosphate was lower the root shoot ratio was bigger, and the transferring proportion of nutrients from roots to shoots was lower Increases of total organic acids and the activity of acid phosphatase were induced by phosphorus deficiency Under of the condition of P deficiency, the size of total organic acids and the activity of acid phosphatase in different plant parts was leaves > stems > roots
