Abstract:White pseudobulbils were initiated from in vitro grown leaf explants of Rosa hybrida ‘Samantha’following an induction period of 15 d on MS basal medium supp lemented with 2,4-D 7.0 - 10.0 mg/L and a subculture of 20 d on MS medium with TDZ 1.5 mg/L under light. The pseudobulbils were subcultured on medium with NAA, ZT and GA3 , and during the process, new pseudobulbils and new calluswere formed. After a year of continuous selection for fresh and nodular callus, callus that could be continuously subcultured was obtained, and has been maintained for 16 months till now. Adventitious buds could be induced from the callus onMS medium with TDZ 1.0 mg/L, NAA 0.01 mg/L and GA3 0.1 mg/L and elongated into shoots on MS medium with BA 2.0 mg/L and NAA 0.01 mg/L.
