stages,productionperformanceandnutritionalqualityofthefirstyeargrowing犅.犻狊犮犺犪犲犿狌犿werestud
ied,respectively.Resultsshowedthatfour犅.犻狊犮犺犪犲犿狌犿populationswereabletocompletetheentire
growthperiodinJinzhongareasofShanxiinthefirstyeargrowingperiod,withastrongecologicaladapta
bility.Intermsofproductionperformance,freshyield,hayyieldandhayfreshratioofTaigupopulation
werethehighest,folowingwasPingdingpopulation,whileDaicountyandPinglupopulationshadpoor
performance.Intermsofnutritionalquality,Taigupopulationexceededotherpopulationsaswel.Its
crudeprotein(CP),calcium(Ca)andphosphorus(P)contentswerethehighest;neutraldetergentfiber
(NDF)andaciddetergentfiber(ADF)contentswerethelowest;itsleafstemratiowaslowerthanoth
ers.ComprehensiveanalysisshowedthatTaigupopulationhadthebestperformance,withgreatpotential
valueforestablishingpastureandbreeding.
