Abstract:In this study, 107 wheat cultivars/accesses were evaluated for resistance to English grain aphid.Only one genotype displayed high resistance and nineteen genotypes showed middle resistance.Ten agronomic traits including tiller number, plant height and heading date were investigated. The relationships between agronomic traits and resistance of wheat germplasm to English grain aphid were studied. The results revealed that resistance was significantly negatively correlated with tiller number and plant height.Resistance index, resistance scale and ten comprehensive agronomic traits were ranked with Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS).Results illustrated that Iranian cultivar PI 623081 was in first place, followed by Huamai 8, Qianmai 15 and PI 634770 in second place.Xinmai 19 was ranked last. This study provides valuable information for wheat aphid resistance breeding programs.
