Abstract:The pollen morphology of all species in Saururaceae (Saururus chinensis, S. cernuus, Gymnotheca chinensis, G. involucrata, Anemopsis californica and Houttuynia cordata) has been examined under SEM, material was dehydrated in a Denton DCP-1 apparatus. The result shows: Pollen grains anasulcate, also 1-3% anatrichotomosulcate were found in the popula-tion of pollen grains in Houttuynia. Monad, heteropolar, bilateral, elliptic to globose. More or less psilate foveolate to rugulate-foveolate. Small to minute. Pollen morphology gives a sup-port to define Horttuynia, which is more advansed genus compare with Anemopsis.
