Abstract:The influence of temperature on thechemical constituents and pharmacological effects of seeds of Casia tora was examined.As the baking temperaturewasraised,the contents of free chrysophanol increased.The contents of antihepatotoxic constituents in the samples baked at diferent temperatureswerecompared.They decreased as the temperature rose.The pharmacological results basicaly accorded with the contents of the con-stituents.
