Abstract:As physiological active materials，polyamines have a close relationship with the senescence of plants．This article reviews the regulatory effects of polyamines on plant senescence and the mechanism of delaying senescence，including effects on physical and chemical properties of membrane，synthesis of macromolecules and production of ethylene．The functions of polyamines versus hormones on signal transduction are compared.
