Abstract:PolysaccharideSAP3wasextractedandisolatedfrombupleurumbyultrasonicassistedextrac
tion.Therelativemolecularweightwasdeterminedbyhighperformanceliquidchromatography.Its
chemicalstructurewasanalyzedbyinfraredspectrometry(FTIR)andatomicforcemicroscopy(AFM).
ExperimentalresultsshowedthatthemolecularweightofSAP3was33×105.FTIRshowedthereare
characteristicabsorptionpeaksonpolysaccharideSAP3anditsmonosaccharideresiduesexistedinthe
formsofpyranrings.AFMrevealedthatbupleurumpolysaccharidehadamultibranchedstructureand
ringstructureinlinkagesofadjacentmonosaccharides.Theirscavengingactivelyincreasedwiththein
creasingoftheconcentrationfrom02to12mg/mL,thehighestinhibitionratewas452%.
