Abstract:Theefectsofmonosodiumglutamate(MSG)concentrationandsalinityinseedmediumon
strainqualityandfermentationperformanceofSchizochytriumsp.HX308wereinvestigatedThehighest
DHAcontentreached(5325±048)% with40g/LMSGinseedmediumanditslipidyield,lipid
contentanddocosahexaenoicacid(DHA)yieldreached(249±04)g/L,(452±06)%,(86±
035)g/L,respectively.ItwasinterestingthatstrainculturedinseedmediumwithoutMSGcouldobtain
beterfermentationperformance.Lipidyield,lipidcontentandDHAyieldreached(301±08)g/L,
(543±05)%,and(121±05)g/L,respectively.Theywereincreasedby2088%,2013%,and
4070% thanthoseof40g/LMSG,providingnewideasandtheoreticalbasisforfuturestrain
acclimatization.Inaddition,lowsalinityconditionwasfavorabletoexerttheproductivepotentialityofthe
strain.625g/LNaClwasthebestsalinityintheseedmedium.Lipidcontent,DHAyield,andDHA
contentofSchizochytriumsp.HX308afterfermentationreachedthemaximum valuesof(621±
08)%,(100±03)g/L,and(4897±042)%,respectively.
