Identification and preliminary comparative evaluation on resistant reactions of three sets of differential varieties to Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae collected from japonica rice in Yunnan Plateau
Abstract:In order to clear the pathotypes and pathogenic variation of Xanthomonas oryzae pv.oryzae (Xoo) collected from japonica rice in Yunnan Plateau, identification and comparative evaluation on resistant reactions of three sets of differential varieties to ten representative isolates of Xoo were carried out through use of leaf-cutting inoculation method. The pathogenic variation of Xoo collected from japonica rice in the plateau was specific and particular. The differential varieties composed of Haonuoyang, TN1, Kogyoku, Zhenzhu’ai, IR26, Nanjing33 and Kinmaze were the most effective in evaluation on pathotypes of Xoo. The resistant reaction patterns of strain Q-1-2 on the two sets of differential varieties publicly recognized in China were SRRSR and SRRRSR, respectively. These patterns were different from those of any strains used on the two sets of differential varieties. The rice accessions Haonuoyang, IRBB14, IRBB3, IRBB4, and IRBB5 were resistant to the all isolates tested, therefore their genes for resistance to Xoo could be very valuable for breeding of japonica rice in Yunnan Plateau.
