Abstract:Objective: To study the chemical characteristic, to identify the different forms and to establish the new standard for the quality control of Cortex Magnoliae Officinalis. Method: HPLC method was used with acetonitrile-water(63:37) as the mobile phase at room temperature. The chromatographic column was lichrospher 100 RP-18e(4.6 mm×250 mm,5 fan) . The flow rate was 1 mL·min-1, and the detection wavelength was 294 nm The chromatograms of 45 individuals from 13 seed resources of Cortex Magnolia Officinalis were recorded. calculation of seed resources were made. Result: It was proposed that the area ratio of peak 5 to 6(characteristic Ⅰ) and the area ratio of peak 5 and 6 to the total peak areas (characteristic Ⅱ) are the identification characteristics for different seed resources of Cortex Magnoliae Officinalis. Conclusion: This method can be used effectively to identify the high quality seed resource of Cortex Magnoliae Officinalis.
