Abstract:A standard triangle interpolation method for the study of the spatial pattern of population in plant communities is presented. In comparison with the method of 2-dimensional net function interpolation, it has many advantages. The new method offers all information that 2-dimensional net function provides, such as distribution pattern types of population individuals, total area of clumps et al. The most important is that its output is non-negative and no more skewed, which are the problems with the 2-D net interpolation. The results obtained using this standard triangle interpolation method are of higher accuracy.
