Effects of Modified Atmosphere Packaging and Ethylene Absorbent Treatments on Contents of Chlorophyll and Endogenous Hormones in Green Mume(Prunus mume Sieb. et Zucc.)Fruits
Abstract:Effects of modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) and ethylene absorbent on chlorophyll content, ethylene evolution and endogenous hormone changes in post_harvest Green Mume fruits were investigated at (25±1)℃. The results indicated that chlorophyll content in the MAP fruits was higher than that in the ethylene absorbent treated fruits while the lowest level was in the control. During storage, the MAP fruits had a steadily low ethylene evolution, higher GA3 level and
lower content of IAA and ABA than those of the control. The above items in ethylene absorbent treated fruits changed between the MAP and the control. MAP might delay the senecence and degradation of chlorophyll in Green Mume fruits by means of maintaining high level of GA3, decreasing ABA content, keeping high ratio of GA3 to ABA, inhibiting the production of IAA and ethylene.
