Abstract:The effect of different application patterns of bio-organic, humic acid and chicken manure from intensive poultry farms on yield and quality of flowering Chinese cabbage were studied. The feasible application technology of animal manures for intensive vegetable fields was also discussed. Six successive field trails were set up to study the effect of yield, quality, the number of Escherichia coli and heavy metals accumulation treated withr different patterns of fertilization. The result showed that compared with single application of inorganic fertilizers treatment, the combinations of 3000 kilogram per hector chicken manure and complex Bacillus SP agent increase the yields for all six successive crops, followed by chicken manure contained complex Bacillus SP. The soluble sugar content and Vitamin C content was rather similar between different treatments. The nitrite content and the number of Escherichia coli under the treatment of the combinations of chicken manure and complex Bacillus SP agent were low except under the first crop. The copper, zinc and arsenic content did not show significant difference between different treatments, which is in accordance with the Food Hygiene Standard in China. Our study proved that applying inorganic fertilizer combining with appropriate amount chicken manure, in which the heavy metal content under ceiling limit value of fertilizer in China, and pouring complex Bacillus SP agent throughout growth period of cabbage could increase the yield, meanwhile, maintain good quality.
