Abstract:From Chinese folk medicine H. fragrans roots, oleanolic acid, daucosterol, melaleucic acid ( I ) and two new compounds (II) and (III) have been isolated. On the bases of spectroscopic data and chemical evidences, the stru-ctures of (II) and (III) were elucidated as lup-3β,23-dihydroxy-20 (29) -ene-27, 28-dioic acid and melaleucic acid-28-[α -L-rhamnopyranosyl-( 1 - 4 )- β -D-gluco-pyranosyl- ( 1 - 6 )- β -D-glucopyranosyl ]ester, respectively.
