Abstract:Objective:To provide scientific basis for developing and utilizing Pueraria stems.Method:The contents of total flavonoid were determined by means of UV spectrophotometry. The isoflavones in stems and roots of nine species of genus Pueraria were analyzed by TLC.Results:The stems and roots are similar in chemical composition.Conclusion:Pueraria stems as a potential resource could be used as a substitute for Pueraria roots.
