Abstract:The composition of molecular species and the positional distribution of fatty acids of phosphatidylglycerol (PG) isolated from Ginkgo leaf were examined and analyzed by high-perfor-mance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and enzymic hydrolysis. The fatty acid compositions (sn-1/
sn-2) of the identified major mglecular species were 18:3/16: 1(30,18:3/16:0,18:2/16: 1(3t),18:2/16:0,18:1/16: 1(3t,16:0/16:1 (3t), 18: 1/18: 1,18:1/16:0 and 16:0/16:0. The results showed that C18 fatty acids were principally localized at the sn-1 position, the component 16:1 (3t exclusively occupied the sn-2 position and 16:0 was found at both the sn-1 position and the sn-2 positon. The degree of unsaturation at the sn-1 postion was higher than that at the sn-2 positon.
