Abstract:Aqueous solution of the leaves and stems of Sophora alopecuroides L. has obvious inhibition to the sprouts and roots growth of wheat (T. aestivum) seedling. Aqueous solution contains the following alkaloids as aloperine, sopho-ridine and sophocarpine. We found by the experiments that the alkaloids when applied to wheat seedling cause a striking growth inhibition. The results are as follows:1.
