Abstract:The experimental data indicate that Acanthopanax giraldii polysaccharides (AGP) significantly inhibit the elevation of serum ALT in CCl4, D-galactosamine- and thioacetamide intoxicated rats and mice. In CCl4-intoxicated mice, the retention of serum BSP was also reduced obviously by AGP. AGP was found to shorten the pentobarbital sleeping time in both normal and CCl4-intoxicated mice.
